Gary Currie, 49, of St. Charles, MO, formerly of Litchfield, died Wednesday, June 27, 2018, at his residence, after a 14-month battle with brain cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, July 12, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Christian Church of Litchfield. A memorial service will begin at 4 p.m., followed by dinner at 5 p.m. and fellowship.

Mr. Currie was born Jan. 31, 1969, to William and Mary (Gimlin) Currie of Litchfield. He married his longtime partner, Robert Levin on Oct. 30, 2015, and he survives.

He was a 1988 graduate of Litchfield High School. Before moving to St. Charles, MO, he owned and operated Loft and Home in Litchfield. He studied at the Chicago Art Institute and at Southern Illinois University of Edwardsville, and he earned degrees in fashion and jewelry.

Since moving to St. Charles, MO, about eight years ago, he worked at April's on Main.

In addition to his husband and parents, he is survived by his sister, Pamela Foster and her children, Isabella Ott and Bert (wife Jacquelyn Welsh) Holloway; their son, Dolan Jameson Holloway; and maternal grandmother, Elsie (Brown) Kahl.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Carl "Corky" Gimlin and paternal grandparents, Lovel and Bessie (Carlock) Currie.

Memorials may be directed to the Christian Church of Litchfield or the Montgomery County Cancer Association.
