F. Darline Spears, 83

F. Darline Spears, 83, of Hillsboro, formerly of Coffeen and Nokomis, died on Sunday, Nov. 25, at 12:40 a.m. at Hillsboro Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Dec. 1, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home in Nokomis. Funeral services will follow, beginning at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will take place in Glendale Cemetery in Fillmore.

Mrs. Spears was born July 15, 1935, in Carlinville, to Walter and Velma (Swires) Arter. She married Carl K. Spears on Oct. 19, 1952, in Carlinville, and he survives.

She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, where she served as choir director, Eastern Star and Beta Sigma Phi.

In addition to her husband of 66 years, Mrs. Spears is survived by daughters, Pamela S. (Allen) Mehochko of Nokomis and Patricia L. (John) Spears-Heinel of Lovettesville, VA; sons, Wesley D. Spears of Hillsboro and Jeffrey (companion Shelli Bowels) Spears of O'Fallon; grandchildren, Tina, Jeremy, Brendon, Brianna, Matthew, Sally, Jennifer, Miranda and Rebecca; ten great-grandchildren; a brother, Duane (Gerry) Arter of Tuscon, AZ; and half-sisters, Patricia Alderson of Florida and Evia (Paul) Stephenson of Hoyleton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Alice Bowen.
