Ellen M. (Kent) Overton, 59, of Hillsboro, died Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at 11:17 p.m. at Montgomery Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Taylor Springs.

Visitation will be held Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Kevin Cook of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, officiating. Burial will be held in Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen.

Mrs. Overton was born May 13, 1959, in Joliet, the daughter of Shirley Kent of Coffeen and the late Legoria Kent. She married Jack Overton, and he preceded her in death in 2001.

A 1977 graduate of Hillsboro High School, she lived in Morris, Coffeen and Hillsboro during her lifetime.

The office manager at DC Waste in Hillsboro, she was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, and an active volunteer at Paws Care in Hillsboro.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by brother, Richard (wife Debra) Kent of Coffeen; aunts, Joyce Van Duyne and Janet (husband Charles) Blakley; nephews, Chris Kent and Jared Kent; great-nephews, Marshall Kent, Mitchell Kent, Morgen Kent and Manning Kent; great-niece, Mallory Kent; great-great niece, Aurora Kent; and several cousins.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by aunt,  Betty Calligaris; and nephew, Matthew Kent.

Memorials may be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, Paws Care of Hillsboro or Olive Hill Cemetery in Coffeen.
