Dolores I. (Lueking) Jurgena, 93, of Irving, died on July 2, 2023, at her residence.
Private family funeral services will be held. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Jurgena was born on June 29, 1930, in Springfield, to Arthur and Nina Mable (Jones) Lueking. She married Harold W. Jurgena on Aug. 10, 1965, and he preceded her in death on May 13, 2021.
Mrs. Jurgena graduated from Lanphier High School in Springfield. She worked for the Illinois Department of Revenue before retiring and becoming a homemaker. Mrs. Jurgena was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran church in Irving. She was also a member of the Home Extension in Hillsboro, and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan.
Mrs. Jurgena is survived by her children William “Bill” (Tracy) Jurgena of Irving and Carol (Frank) Elam of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Angela (Alban) Kaculi, Katie (Luke) Stewart, Christopher (Hannah) Jurgena, Sarah (Cory) McFarlane, Susan (Edward) Stuart and Melissa (Baxter) Grace; as well as nine great-grandchildren, Emmett, Pax, Saylor, Myles, Addaline, Isabelle, Elise, Andrew and Ema.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Martin Jurgena; and one brother, Kenneth Lueking.
