Derald Wesley Bowles, 87, formerly of Litchfield, died Tuesday, March 5, 2019.
Graveside services were held Saturday, March 9, at Robinson Memorial Gardens in Easley, SC. Robinson Funeral Home and Crematory in Easley, SC, was in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bowles was born in Litchfield, a son of the late Byron Brooks and Verna B. Bowles. He married Bertie Mae Smith, and she survives.
A retired businessman, he was employed at Brooks Brothers Clothiers for many years. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force who served his country during the Korean War.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he was an avid reader and loved St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
In addition to his wife of 64 years, he is survived by a son, Austin Brooks (Cindy) Bowles of Las Vegas, NV; daughter, Lisa Ann (Mark) Mowery of Chattanooga, TN; brother, Lester (Joann) Bowles of Godfrey; sister, Gerry Johnston of Litchfield; grandchildren, Misty (Jay) Bloodworth of Hot Springs, AR, Emily (Brian) Bartlett of Easley, SC, Avery Bowles of Las Vegas, NV, Steven (Yumi) Hurlbut of South Korea, and Lori Hurlbut of Chattanooga, TN; and great-grandchildren, Jeremiah Johnson, Evan Bartlett and Jacob Johnson.
