Darren Eugene Boerckel, 64, of Litchfield, died at 10:49 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at his residence.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m. at Litchfield Southern Baptist Church. The Rev. Mike Rogers of Litchfield Southern Baptist will be officiating. Bass-Patton Dean is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mr. Boerckel was born Jan. 29, 1959, in Litchfield to John T. Jr. and Caroline (Buzick) Boerckel.
A lifetime Litchfield resident, he worked for years as a hod carrier and laborer. He was a member of the Litchfield South Baptist Church, and loved his two cats, Faith and Darla, and spending time with family. He loved fishing, tattoos, gardening, and visiting antique shops and goodwill stores.
Mr. Boerckel is survived by his siblings, brothers Terry (JoAnna) Boerckel of New Douglas and John Boerckel III (companion, Karen) of Litchfield, and sisters Nancy Brewer of Litchfield and Carol (Kenny) Ondrey of Livingston; his nieces and nephews, Theresa (Dave) Kirkwood, Terry (Jennifer) Boerckel, Clint (Angela) Boerckel, Gene (Linda) Boerckel Jr, Christina (Will) Sargent, Tania Brooks, Joni (Lonnie) Mayfield, John (Shannon) Boerckel IV, Coralie Brewer, Mike (Suzanne) Brewer, Michelle (David) Belt, Matthew (Anna) Brewer, Danny (Kathy) Brewer, Rachel Brewer (companion, Parker), Jeff (Rachel) Davis Jr, John (Sandra) Davis, and Tish (Cavin) Schmedeke; and several great and great- great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, John and Edith Boerckel Sr, and Toney and Cora Buzick; brothers Jimmy Boerckel and Gene (wife, Linda) Boerckel; and niece Amy Boerckel.
