College Report: Grabow Front And Center At IC

Posted

Maybe a huge victory has helped Illinois College turn the corner.

Austin Grabow (Hillsboro), an IC football-playing junior, started at center in the Blue Boy's huge 63-20 win over Beloit College.

"This was a must win game for us," said the Hillsboro graduate. "My role this year is not only to be a leader on the offensive line, but the offense. I was fortunate enough to get voted as one of the "capos" as we call ourselves by my teammates. My actions on and off the field should never be anything less than above the line."

Grabow and the rest of the offensive line helped IC post 430 yards of offense. They passed for 299 yards and rushed for 131 yards. The Blue Boys had seven touchdowns, five of the passing variety and two rushing touchdowns. They had 21 first downs.

"We have all been playing together since our freshman year," said Grabow of the offensive line. "We have a great rapport both on and off the field. The win boosted everyone's confidence. It was tremendous to pile up all those points."

Illinois College is 1-3.
