Bill Dean Harris, Jr., 61, of Witt, died on Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2019, at 1:41 p.m. at HSHS St. John's Hospital in Springfield.
A "One with the Woods" Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 23, at 4 p.m. at the Witt Lions building. Cremation rites were accorded per his wishes. Stiehl-Dawson Funeral Home of Witt is assisting the family.
Mr. Harris was born May 12, 1957, to Bill Dean and Anna (Hicks) Harris, Sr. He married Regina Bain, and she survives.
He lived most of his life in Witt, and graduated from Witt High School with the class of 1975.
During his career, Mr. Harris worked at Echlin Dana as a tool grinder for 27 years, then later worked at Pittsburgh Pipe, where he was a quality control administrator.
He was an outstanding Lions Club member for many years, where he served as president for three years. He had a passion for hunting, fishing, the lake and the outdoors.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Harris is survived by his mother; a son, James Dean (Danielle) Harris; a daughter, Erica Harris; grandchildren, Morgan Leigh, Maliah Harris, Brendan Johnson and Jasper Dean Altevogt; siblings, Wayne (Debbie) Harris, Deana (Edward) Ettling, Jeffrey Harris, Melody (Pete) Cesaretti and Terry (Colleen) Harris; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; and sister, Vickie Cranmer.
