Bettie M. Oakley, 84, of Taylor Springs, died Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2018, at her residence.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date. Hough and Sons Funeral Home in Hillsboro is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Oakley was born Dec. 27, 1934, in Hillsboro, to Ira and Hattie (Osborne) Erwin. She married Jackie Jarvis, Sr., and he preceded her in death. She then married James Oakley, and he preceded her in death.
A graduate of Hillsboro High School, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by her children, Jerry Jarvis of Hillsboro, Bonnie Jane (Larry) Halleman of St. Elmo, James (Renee) Oakley, Jr. of Tennessee, Michael (Eileen) Oakley of Hillsboro and Julie Mayberry of Schram City; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and one brother, Roy Erwin of Arizona.
In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by three children, Jackie Jarvis, Thomas Oakley and Judy Oakley; two brothers, Chuck Erwin and Ike Erwin; and one sister, Bonnie Baron.
