Randy J. Pope, 57, of Raymond died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.

Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 8, at A Community of Faith Church in Raymond. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 9, at the church.

Burial will be in Asbury Cemetery in Raymond. Hough Funeral Home in Raymond is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Pope was born in Hillsboro on May 7, 1956, the son of James H. and Betty (Gorsage) Pope. He married Terri Furness in Hillsboro on July 30, 1978, and she survives.

He was a 1974 graduate of Lincolnwood High School and had also served on the Panhandle School Board for 16 years, two of which he served as president. He also served on the Panhandle Education Foundation and was a FFA Alumni and had served as a Rountree Township trustee.

Mr. Pope loved life on the farm and was a dedicated farmer his whole life. He enjoyed sports, especially NASCAR and the St. Louis Blues and Cardinals. He served a number of years on the Raymond-Harvel Sports Association Board and was a volunteer little league baseball coach. He enjoyed life, but never so much as he did as when he was at Disney.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Alexis (Vince) Walch of Raymond and Casey (Chris) Fair of East Alton; son, Cody (Aby Lee) Pope of Springfield; mother, Betty (Larry) Jenkins of Raymond; sister, Penny (Robert) Grundy of Morrisonville; brother, Allen (Vivian) Pope of Nokomis; and grandson, Paxton Walch of Raymond.
